About The Artist
Meadow Gist was raised in the scenic mountain town of Ramona, just east of San Diego in southern California. She has always had a great love of the arts. This love has been further nurtured by her studies at Watt's Atelier of the Arts where she has been studying with Jeffrey R. Watts for more than seven years. She plans to continue active study at the Atelier and believes it a crucial element of a fine art painter’s life.
It was in these studies that she was exposed to artist's such as Nicolai Fechin, Joaquin Sorolla, Alphonse Mucha, and John Singer Sargent. Current inspirations are Calvin Liang, Mian Situ, and Carolyn Anderson.
Meadow has been teaching traditional painting and drawing classes at Watt's Atelier since 2003. Meadow is also an Artist Member of the California Art Club
